Ever since 1990, the Silver Thread Byway has been pleasing adventurous family vacationers with its fresh air, scenic mountain environment, and fascinating cultural history. Silver Thread Basecamp, your gateway to the Byway, is open May 1 – October 31 when the weather is pleasantly mild.

Choose pull-thru or back-in sites
There is plenty of room for your big rig in our 50 pet-friendly, full hook-up sites. Drive on smooth gravel-paved roads through lush landscaping to get to your tree-shaded RV campsite. Some RV sites overlook the Rio Grande!

Get close to nature
Pitch your tent and enjoy an all-natural stay under the trees in one of five dedicated tent sites. You’ll be near the facilities and have full use of all park amenities, as well as beach and river access.
Rustic Cabin
Sleeps 4
Just like the cabins of the early settlers on the Silver Thread Byway this rustic cabin has electricity and does have a full-size bed and a set of twin bunks queen bed. Bring your own linens.
Luxury Covered Wagons
Sleeps 4 to 6
Our glamping wagons come equipped with a queen bed and bunks to sleep 4-6. They are heated and air conditioned, have a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, and smart TV. They have a full bathroom with shower and come equipped with sheets and towels.
